What will my appointment involve?
Your first appointment will be an assessment where we talk about the issue you have. We’ll look at your alignment and range of movement, and discuss what you’re finding challenging and what your goals are. We’ll then talk about your treatment plan, whether that’s a home exercise plan or further appointments or a combination of both.
How long is an appointment?
Your initial assessment will take roughly 1 hour. Follow up appointments are 45 minutes long.
How many appointments will I need?
Every client is different and the number of appointments needed can vary. We will talk about the expected number of sessions at your initial appointment. I am happy just to help with a diagnosis and advise on ongoing management or can provide ongoing care and support/progression of exercises.
Will I need to do exercises afterwards?
For many people, a home exercise plan will help to speed up your recovery. We’ll discuss this at your initial appointment so you’ll know what to expect.
Do I need to be referred by my GP?
No. If you have an issue, please get in touch for a chat about whether physiotherapy could help you.
Do you cover my postcode area?
I cover all areas of Bristol and North Somerset. If you live further afield, please call and we can discuss a visit.
Can you treat someone in a care home?
Some care homes have their own physiotherapists who work with their residents. However, if this is not the case, I am happy to visit patients in a care home setting as long as the care home management team is happy with that.
Do you bring a treatment table and will I need to make space?
I have a portable treatment table with me to use if needed, however some people find it tricky to get on and off the table. I will always give treatment in a position that you find comfortable, with any exercise plans designed with your home set-up in mind.
